Municipal Theatre, Broumov

The Municipal Theatre Broumov has two theatre ensembles – the theatre group Broumov and the theatre group Hlavy. Kytice (Bouquet) performed by the theatre group Hlavy won at Voskova Sázava 3 awards (the best performance, the best choir, the best music) in 2011. The theatre is also the organizer of an annual summer festival Malé letní divadelní (Summer Little Theatre) which is held in the courtyard of the monastery in Broumov in case of bad weather in the theatre.

Theatre, Bystré u Dobrušky

The Amateur Theatre Association Osvětová beseda Bystré has already existed for 140 years. After the 15-year-break the local amateur actors performed several plays not only on their home stage, but also in Opočno, Pohoří, Provodov, Litice, Sedloňov, Deštné and the like.

J. K. Tyl Theatre , Červený Kostelec

The foundation stone of the theatre was laid on the August 3, 1924 and on October 25, 1925 the theatre was inaugurated. Lucerna (Lantern) by Alois Jirásek and Loupežník (Robber) by Karel Čapek were performed. On the 100th anniversary of the death of Josef Kajetán Tyl on September 29, 1956 the theatre was at the ceremonial performance of his play Jan Hus renamed to be the theatre of J. K. Tyl. The theatre building also serves for concerts, comedy shows, lectures, festivals and more.

Theatre Jesličky, Hradec Králové

The literary-dramatic ensemble operates a permanent stage at the basic school Na Střezině – the famous theatre Jesličky. Two to three shows a week are performed in the hall for 120 spectators. The repertoire consists of serious and funny, classic and avant-garde pieces, student performances, poetry, cabaret, etc.

Klicpera Theatre, Hradec Králové

The Klicpera Theatre is a proof that good art can be done not only in our capital - Prague, but also in the "Salon of the Republic" – Hradec Králové. In modern history the theatre was named the Theatre of the Year in the Czech Republic for four times on the basis of the prestigious survey of Alfred Radok Foundation. The Klicpera Theatre is annually also the main organizer of the festival Waiting for Wenceslas (Sept 28 – October 28) and Theatre of European Regions (June 21 to 30).

Puppet Theatre Drak, Hradec Králové

The theatre DRAK plays for the whole family. Thus in the audience all generations meet; from the youngest children to their grandparents. For more than fifty years of its existence, the Theatre Drak has earned an exceptional reputation both in the Czech Republic and abroad. Since 2010 the theatre has expanded with Labyrinth - a theatrical museum with an interactive game room for both kids and adults; as well as with Studio – a variable studio scene for a hundred spectators.

Philharmonic Orchestra, Hradec Králové

The Philharmonic Orchestra of Hradec Králové (POHK) was founded in 1978 under the name Opera Orchestra of Hradec Králové, a year later the body was renamed the Symphony Orchestra of Hradec Králové and in 1987 the State Symphony Orchestra of Hradec Králové. Since the establishment of the Czech Republic (January 1, 1993) the orchestra has bore the name The Philharmonic Orchestra of Hradec Králové, expressing the historical continuity going back through the Philharmonic Sokol in Hradec Králové up to the Philharmonic Unity operating in the city from 1887. The period of the greatest artistic flourish of the orchestra is associated with the name of prof. František Vajnar. The current head conductor of the POHK is Ondřej Koukal, the principal conductor is Andreas Sebastian Weiser. The POHK has performed in Belgium, France, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Austria, Spain and Switzerland. CD recordings for both domestic and foreign companies, or Český rozhlas Radio document achieved interpretative quality of the orchestra. Since 2005 the Philharmonic Orchestra of Hradec Králové has been organizing the festival Music Forum of Hradec Králové.

Jirásek Theatre and Čapek Hall, Hronov

The dominant feature of the square in Hronov is the Jirásek Theatre. It was designed by an architect Jindřich Freiwald. Since 1931 it has annually been hosting international festival of amateur theatres Jirásek´s Hronov. On the second floor of the theatre building there is the Jirásek´s Museum focusing on the history and the ethnography of the Hronov region; and on the Jirásek´s personality and his work. The theatre also serves as a cinema.

Since 1999, the building has been structurally connected to a new completion – a multipurpose Josef Čapek Hall where other social events are held (balls, graduation balls, theatre performances, concerts, staff parties, dance for youth and adults, etc.).

Bouček Puppet Theatre, Jaroměř

The permanent scene of the theatre is located in the second oldest building for permanent scenes for puppets in our country. The ensemble performs plays for children once a month; and organizes shows of puppet theatres twice a year – in February it is the Bouček´s Jaroměř and in November it is the Jaroměř´s Puppets. Apart from that they perform with a classic family marionette theatre all around the country.

Municipal Theatre, Jaroměř

The Municipal Cultural Centre in Jaroměř offers a wide range of theatre performances of professional ensembles from the whole Czech Republic, concerts of classical and popular music, courses and clubs. Annually there is realized a non-competitive festival of amateur dramatic theatres the “Jaroměřské divadlení” and also a show of scenic dance “Tanfest”.

Erben Theatre, Miletín

The Erben Theatre Ensemble of Miletín has been one of the oldest Czech amateur ensembles with the tradition since 1827. Besides its own theatrical productions the theatre organizes with other organizations theatre shows and festivals on regular basis, for instance the Miletínské jaro (Miletínské spring) – the festival of East Bohemia rural theatre ensembles. In autumn and winter months the ensemble holds traditional theatre festival the Theatre Erben´s Miletín. A part of the festival is a competitive National show of senior theatre with the possibility of continuing to the festival Jirásek´s Hronov. The Erben Theatre Ensemble of Miletín bears Jevínský Štefan award for its lasting cultural contribution.

Municipal Theatre of Dr. Josef Čížek, Náchod

The Municipal Theatre of Dr. Josef Čížek in Náchod is a national cultural monument. The building was constructed according to the design of a Prague architect Alois Čenský in two years only, the opening ceremony took place in 1914. The richly decorated interior is complemented by a real artistic delicacy - the curtain depicting the arrival of the first Czechs to Říp, hand painted by Mikuláš Aleš. The beautiful pure Art Nouveau building is not only an adornment of the city, but also an important cultural centre in the wide surroundings. Although the theatre does not have a permanent ensemble, its program is very rich and more than 200 various cultural events are held there annually.

Puppet Theatre “For Children´s Joy”, Náchod

The Puppet Theatre “For Children´s Joy” in Náchod has been regularly performing in the period from September to April every Saturday from 3:00 pm continuously since 1953. The theatre uses for its plays both marionettes and puppets. It cooperates with several theatre scenes with which, usually on Sundays, performs in other places in the region. A part of the ensemble also consists of children – the puppeteers at the age 10-12 years old. Their performances have been included in a programming plan since 2011 and they slowly become a part of the core repertoire.

Jirásek Theatre, Nový Bydžov

The Jirásek Theatre in Nový Bydžov was reopened after years of reconstruction on February 14, 2003. Since then a lot of professional and amateur ensembles from the Czech Republic have performed on its stage. Actors from the theatre ensemble Jirásek (home stage of the theatre) performed the musical comedy Lemonade Joe last time. The theatre is equipped with modern stage and lighting equipment and it is able to meet the most demanding requirements by both visiting performers and visitors.

Kolár Theatre, Police nad Metují

The Kolár Theatre was built in 1941. Most of the funds for its construction were obtained from donations of the citizens of the town of Police nad Metují. Viewers can watch on the stage both professional and amateur theatre groups; concerts and other cultural events. Every autumn, the traditional festival Polické divadlení hry (theatre plays of Police) is held here. The Kolár Theatre also serves as a cinema.

Pelcl Theatre, Rychnov nad Kněžnou

The Pelcl Theatre has been the cultural mecca of Rychnov nad Kněžnou sice 1897. A number of artists participated in the decoration of this magnificent building. The large hall is dominated by the relief of F. M. Pelcl by a Prague sculptor F. F. Hergesl. From 2008 when the theatreunderwent a complete reconstruction it once again serves to all the muses – primarily to theatre, dance and music. The most important cultural event of the town is the festival Poláčkovo léto (Poláček´s Summer).

Puppet Theatre, Smiřice

The Puppet Theatre operating continuously since 1926 has been the longest active cultural association in Smiřice. During its existence it achieved remarkable success in the competition shows, especially in the Loutkařská Chrudim (Puppet Chrudim). At present, its repertoire contents classic fairy tales for the little ones mainly.

Alois Jirásek Theatre, Úpice

The founders of the theatre in Úpice were the enthusiastic amateurs led by Jan Záruba already in 1823. After many years of efforts and public collection the construction of the theatre was pushed through. The first performance took place on June 18, 1938. Neither the war interrupted a lasting work of the local amateur ensemble. Today, the theatre presents professional shows; puppeteers, schools, associations and other institutions that have something to offer to the public are also involved. The building also serves as a cinema.

Klicpera House Theatre

The Klicpera House Theatre in Chlumec nad Cidlinou offers to its viewers the Theatre seasons of professional theatres; it is also an organizer of the amateur theatrical show “Klicpera´s Chlumec”. It features films for both adults and children; organizes concerts, exhibitions, lectures. The Klicpera House Theatre is operated by the Town of Chlumec nad Cidlinou. In 2006 there was a complete renovation of the former cinema "Panorama" to the multi-cultural facility. The program is created for each month with the teaser for next month.
