ORLICKÉ MOUNTAINS AND PODORLICKO LOWLANDS (Eagle Mountains and its foothills)
Eagle Mountains and its foothills (Orlické Mountains and Podorlicko Lowlands) in addition to a number of notable stately mansions, Jewish monuments and museums and galleries offer a particularly impressive natural scenery of its mountains and their foothills, through which leads a net of defensive forts that were built during the first Czechoslovak Republic to defend the danger from fascist Germany. The most visited fort is Hanička.

At lower altitudes an extremely valuable natural territory is the alluvial plain of the river Orlice. This Protected Natural Park is situated on the banks of Divoká (Wild) and Tichá (Silent) Orlice river and at its confluence it continues as the river Orlice to Hradec Králové.
In the river valley there are situated towns such as for instance Rychnov nad Kněžnou with the Kolowrats´ Castle and jewish monuments, Častolovice with late Renaissance chateau, which is surrounded by the park with game enclosure and Týniště nad Orlicí, where the visitors can admire the beauty of forest ponds.
