The path of Czech and Polish friendship across the Krkonoše Mountains

Hiking: the path of Czech and Polish friendship

Cestou česko-polského přátelství

Starting point: fork in the road below Tvarožník (above Vosecká cabin) from the west, or Pomezní cabins (Malá Úpa) from the east

Route: the route leads along Sněžné jámy, Mužské kameny and Dívčí kameny to Špindlerova cabin. Here it deviates more to the Polish Krkonoše Mountains, which offer a view of Velký and Malý Staw (ponds), and subsequently rises to Sněžka. From Sněžka it descends to Pomezní cabins. It can only be negotiated on foot

The path of Czech and Polish friendship is a red signposted mountain ridge route, which connects the Western and Eastern Krkonoše Mountains. It bisects or follows the Czech and Polish border many times along its 28 kilometer length. As it leads over the highest peaks of the Krkonoše Mountains, visitors will thoroughly enjoy the views and interesting places. The route begins in the Western Krkonoše Mountains on the fork in the road below Tvarožník (above Vosecká cabin). Here it is possible to get from Harrachov or Rokytnice nad Jizerou, which is approx. 8 km further on foot. It is possible to join the route from numerous locations in Krkonoše Mountains if you do not want to negotiate the whole thing.

Points of tourist interest along the route: they are mostly geological points of interest and exhibits of nature. You can also admire the flora and fauna of the highest mountain range in the Czech Republic
